On 1st July 2010, Fuzion Communications, which was a North India market research and analysis firm, transformed into ‘Fuzion PR’ and started offering PR & communication strategy services. Since then, this roller coaster yet beyond exciting journey made us witness evolution of Regional India (or Bharat as we call it today) while emerging as India’s strongest and most trusted Regional PR consultancy and being recognized as a synonym of Regional PR in India.
In these 14 years, while the landscape of Regional India witnessed numerous changes, Fuzion PR also evolved in the organization it is today. We are a team of close to 100 professionals spread across 14 offices, covering over 150 key cities across the length and breadth of our diverse country. But the journey was far from easy, and it seems we have just scratched the surface in these 14 years over the immense opportunities Regional India has to offer.
From witnessing the journey of evolving media landscape every few months, in completely different flavors and fervors in diverse regions of India, to the evolution of brands understanding the need of a specific Regional India communication strategy that caters to over 1 Billion people residing beyond metros, it has been an unbelievable road to tread. On one hand, we were training and building professionals who understood the need and scope of working in Regional India and on the other hand, we were slowly gaining the trust of brands to test waters, experiment and find the perfect synchronization that resonates with each state/district/city/town.
In the first five years till 2015, it was all about exploration of diversities in consumer & media landscape, and trying to expand the scope of Regional PR in Indian ecosystem. These five years, though a different struggle everyday, were by-far the most interesting in our journey of 14 years.
From 2015 to 2020, India had started waking up to the inevitable need of Regional communication in India. Most brands now had a separate Regional PR consultancy to support their businesses beyond metros. Regional PR started showing its presence in PR and Comms awards too, and the work being done in tier 2/3 towns was becoming at-par with National regions.
2020 and 2021 deserve a special mention in every brand’s journey and looking back, it catapulted the growth for Regional communication even further. Changes media witnessed guided everyone to the rapid growth of digital mediums but at the same time, the trust in key Regional media houses remained. Advent of fake news further strengthened brand loyalty. Though print circulations took a hit for a brief period, it eventually unfolded in language media gaining ground, not only in key tier 2/3 cities but also expanded drastically in the tier 3/4/5 regions. The funding winter for start-ups also made brands to focus on profitability which could not be achieved without focusing on Regional India, where 80% of our country’s population resided.
The last three years since 2021 have again given us the flavor of our first five years, where both media and business landscape has changed every few months, keeping us on our toes to catch-up, understand, analyze, and incorporate them into our communication strategy. Not just Indian, but even global brands planning to enter India, have realized the importance of going beyond metro regions to ensure the success of their ventures in our country. The country is surely a stronger divide now between metros and non-metros (or as we popularly call it today – India and Bharat). Bharat is where there is trust, loyalty and the power to bring a brand on global map and this understanding is the key evolution our Industry has gone through post Covid till today.

We are stepping into our 15th year and we are proud of our journey. But we also realize, it’s just the beginning for Regional India and millions of businesses that are originating from the heart of Bharat, like Fuzion did in 2010. We envision to keep supporting brands in exploring Regional India and also helping brands from Bharat to spread their colors on the National map.
